Not a lot of surprises in week 11, and we may know even less about who’s playoff-bound. The MotW determined which of Surfers and TGIF would be eliminated and, unfortunately, TGIF got the axe. Surfers still have an uphill battle to make playoffs, and a lot of it relies on other teams. Shittysauruses are in a similar situation – they were able to beat Nibblonians but even if they beat Giant Octopus this week they’ll still be hoping for some major blunders from the other teams. Bunnies have a rollercoaster left as they face the #12 team in week 12 but the #1 team in week 13. You can nearly pencil in two more wins for Nibblonians who face the #11 and #12 teams to close out the season. Wholelottasmoke has the toughest remaining schedule with Mega (#2) and Surfers (#4) left, but could make playoffs even while dropping these two games. Pumaskulls are the closest to a lock for playoffs, despite their 125 average over the last three games. Pumaskulls have the fourth lowest winning score, averaging 145 points in the games they win. Shittysauruses is averaging the same 145 points in their *losses* this season (2nd in the league).

There’s no meaningless games next week as every team but Giant Octopus and Mega Shark needs every win. Shenanihads can still play potential spoiler if they can keep up their hot streak and take out the streaky Nibblonians. Surfers are another hot and cold team that the Boomers could catch off guard. Shittysauruses will have to hope they can catch up to Mahomes-less Giant Octopus, and TGIF hopes take down the lagging Pumaskulls.

On a normal week you’d feel pretty great about scoring 163 points, but not this time. There’s currently four teams all within a half of a point of each other that will be impatiently waiting for stat corrections later this week. The most important of these games is Fluffy vs Shitty where the winner gains a significant chance of making the playoffs. That wasn’t the only surprise of Week 10 – Shenanihads finally exploded in the Matchup of the Week. Their 170 points was 40 points higher than their previous best score, and the second highest score of the week. Their timing is perfect as they’ll face down three teams all vying for a playoff spot over the last three weeks. Where they once had a “free” win lined up, the Bunnies, Nibblonians, and Shittysauruses will now have a legitimate threat to overcome. Wholelottasmoke has one win over the teams below him, but is facing Pumaskulls (#6), Mega Shark (#2), and Surfers (#5) to close out the season. With 5 (6?) teams fighting for 4 spots, Smoke could find itself outside the playoffs if they don’t win at least 2 out of 3.

Random Notes:

• Giant Octopus had the top score for the fourth week in a row, and is averaging 195 points over the same stretch.
• Mega Shark hasn’t scored less than 149 points since week 5.
• TGIF had their best score of the year, but may not matter after stat corrections.
• Fluffy hasn’t scored this well since week 3.
• Atoms are now tied with Shenanihads for most games under 100 points (4).
• Wholelottasmoke dominated the IDP position with 62 combined points.
• Melvin Gordon is averaging 21 points a game, but the Surfers overall are averaging 131.5 points with him in the line-up, and 170 points with him out.

Playoffs are only 3 weeks away, but aside from the top two spots it’s anyone’s game. Without knowing how stat corrections go I won’t bother speculating, but look for a post later this week going over potential playoff scenarios.

Week of the upsets and the lowest scoring week of the season. We had three of the ten worst scores of the season this week, and the worst scoring win with TGIFs 99.9. Nibblonians picked up the win and are setup pretty nicely for a playoff spot if they can keep it up. Unfortunately they’ll need to go up against Octo (#1) and Shitty (#3) the next few weeks, but after that get to face Shenanihads (#12) and Atoms (#11). Wholelottasmoke has dropped in points for four straight weeks and have to be pretty stoked that Pumaskulls also took the L, otherwise they would have dropped to third in the division. Mega Shark continues to dominate, averaging 167 points over the last four weeks and facing an extremely soft schedule.

Mega Shark joins the Giant Octopus tier while Surfers join Shitty in the unlucky tier. The green group is all +75% to make the playoffs while Shitty and Surfers are the next teams mostly likely to sneak in. Boomers, TGIF, and Atoms all remain in the mix, while Shenanihads can look to spoil Shitty, Atoms, or Fluffy’s chances of making playoffs – all teams that pretty much have to win every game from here out.

Another week, another set of records being broken.

• Worst season of all time? Shenanihads lose again and are now 0-8
• Worst performance of all time? In a year where teams are averaging 140 points, Atoms posted a score of 52 – a score that hasn’t been seen since 2010-2012 era Bo Knows, where averages were around 90 points.
• Most unlucky team of all time? Third in points and a 60-28 record against the field, Shittysauruses took another loss and are now 2-6. Go check out GarbageTime and see all the ways Shittysauruses could be at 7-1 if she were in other teams shoes.

After averaging 130 points from weeks 2-6, Surfers have now posted back to back weeks of 168+ points, without their star player. Pumaskulls bounced back huge this week posting their second highest score of the season and 63 points more than the previous week. They’ve now won their last five games and are only one game out of first place. Wholelottasmoke posted their worst score of the season, but still have a favorable schedule and are tied for division lead.

The trip to the opposing division went well for the Mayo Boys who went 11-7. On the receiving end were the Northern Pikes, where Shenanihads and Nibblonians both went winless.
