This week we’re looking at two teams who have been around since the Bo Knows inception, and are currently both on track to make it the toilet bowl. Shenanihads currently own the worst record in league history, and are looking at maybe their only chance to eek out a win. These teams have faced off many times throughout the years with the Shenanihads winning 7 of their 12 meetings. The first two times these teams faced off, Atoms only scored 40 points. Lets look at their first matchup ever:
A peak Atoms lineup: Missing two players, a zero, and Eli Manning putting up good points for some reason. Shenanihads wouldn’t know it at the time, but they were also in peak form: Arian Foster and a strong Kicker score.
The two teams met earlier this year in week one, where Atoms took the win. The teams are much different different now – Shenanihads decimated by injuries and the Atoms trading away all their best stars. Neither team has scored particularly well this season, though Shenanihads have the edge in consistency. Atoms own the two worst scores of the season (50.5, 79.2) and the two teams combined own the six worst scores of the season.
The teams have scored their points from completely different positions – Shenanihads strength coming from their TE and WR while Atoms’ from the QB and IDP positions. Shenanihads currently have the edge in projections, especially with the Atoms recent erratic play. The teams are projected to score into their positional strengths, though Shenanihads will be without one of their top receivers, Stefon Diggs. Atoms will hope for another big performance from Dion Lewis and their IDP players, and will probably sit content on their league worst TE. Atoms will likely coming limping out of the gate with Jesse James (averaging 4 points the last five games) playing on Thursday night, and close the series out with a whisper from Pierre Garcon (averaging 5 points the last five games) on Monday night. It’s a race to the bottom as Atoms looks to best Shenanihads 104 point average.
