PLAYOFF MADNESS

Ok everyone, it’s time for the best post of the season – THE PLAYOFF SCENARIO RUNDOWN. Let’s start with the locked teams first:

• Dreadmetal Pumaskulls: Locked for #1 seed.
• Butthole Surfers: Locked for playoffs with a 98% probability of getting the #2 seed.

So here’s a simple flowchart for how things can go down this week:

So let’s start with the one match-up that might determine everything:

Giant Octopus vs TGIF

If Giant Octopus loses here then nothing else will matter. All the 7-5 teams will head safely to playoffs. Right now this match-up is about 65-35 in favor of Giant Octopus, but TGIF has outscored or matched Octo the last 4 weeks. If Giant Octopus wins, a lot of other things still need to go right for them to make playoffs. They’ll have their eyes on this next game:

Fluffy Bunnies vs Mega Shark

If Giant Octopus wins and Bunnies can’t beat Mega Shark, Bunnies will drop to the bottom of the pile and be eliminated. This game is projected to be closer than it looks, even with Mega Shark’s dud last week. The Bunnies will need to bounce back after dropping points for three straight weeks.

If Giant Octopus and Fluffy Bunnies both win, we’ll be looking at the Shittysauruses, Nibblonians, and Shenanihads games. If they do a clean sweep and all win, Giant Octopus will still be eliminated. If anyone one of them loses, they’ll be looking at point tie breakers against Octo.

Shittysauruses Lose:

Shittysauruses currently have a 110 point lead over Giant Octopus and are a theoretical lock for playoffs even with a loss.

Nibblonians lose:

If The Nibblonians  lose, they would still need to score ~55 less than Giant Octopus and/or ~35 less than Shenanihads to be eliminated.

Shenanihads lose:

If Shenanihads lose, they would need to score ~20 less than Giant Octopus to be eliminated.
